Allergen Handling and Cross-ContaminationUpdated a day ago

At Field Doctor, food safety is at the heart of everything we do. We follow strict procedures to make sure that every ingredient is traceable, every claim is verified, and every meal you receive is safe to eat.

How we manage allergen risk

Every ingredient and food-contact material we use is risk-assessed for potential issues such as contamination, food fraud, adulteration or substitution.

These assessments are recorded and reviewed at least once a year, and whenever a new ingredient is added.

We keep up-to-date supplier specifications and accreditations for all our raw materials to ensure they meet our standards for safety and quality.

Our approach to traceability and recalls

Every batch of Field Doctor food is fully traceable through our production system.

In the unlikely event of an issue, we can identify exactly which batches were affected, where they were sent, and who received them.

We would immediately contact customers, place any remaining stock on hold, and work with our delivery partners and local authorities to manage the process quickly and transparently.

After any incident, our team reviews the process to make improvements and ensure best practice.

Verifying our food and nutrition claims

All provenance and nutritional claims — such as low FODMAP, high in fibre, or heart-healthy — are supported by evidence and third-party verification.

Nutritional information is checked by an independent dietitian (Susan Church) using specialist software (Nutritics).

Our low FODMAP recipes are reviewed and certified by Monash University before we can display their logo on our packaging or website.

We also maintain traceability records and supporting data for all ingredient sourcing and product claims.
