Are your meals suitable for someone with chronic kidney disease (CKD) or a renal friendly diet?

It depends on your stage of kidney disease, as nutritional advice for CKD can vary quite a bit depending on how your kidneys are functioning.

If you have early-stage CKD (stages 1–3a), a healthy, balanced diet is recommended — and our Mediterranean meals from our heart healthy range could be a good fit.
They are made with wholefoods and contain two servings of vegetables per meal.

Here are a few things that might be helpful to know:

Our standard-size meals contain ~ 1.7g of salt per serving. Our smaller meals contain 1.0–1.3g of salt per serving. You can view these on our menu. Our Mediterranean meals contain between 17 and 31g of protein per meal. You can sort meals by protein content using the protein filter on the left-hand side of the menu.
We asked specialist renal dietitian Ellie Evans to write a guide to eating well with early-stage CKD, which you can read here.

If you have later-stage CKD (stages 3b–5), nutritional needs become more individual — things like potassium, phosphate, and protein targets can vary significantly from person to person.

If your renal dietitian or healthcare team have given you specific guidance around any of these, we can provide full nutritional breakdowns for our meals to help.
We'd always recommend checking with your renal team first, but we're happy to help make that conversation easier.

Ellie has also written a guide to nutrition in later-stage CKD, which you can read here
